Edward N. Therrien, Jr.

Rochester- Edward (Ted) Napoleon Therrien, Jr., age 83, passed away on Wednesday, March 21 at the home of his daughter, Jennifer Dias. He was born on November 19, 1928, in Farmington, NH. He was the son of Alice (Armstrong) and Edward Therrien Sr. As a child, he resided in Farmington, NH and graduated from Farmington High School. He resided in Rochester, NH for the past 54 years. He served in the United States Navy and was later employed by General Electric for 38 years before retiring in 1986. He also served as a weekly volunteer for the Rochester Soup Kitchen for twenty years. He was a parishioner of St. Mary's Church in Rochester, NH as well as a member of both the Farmington and Rochester Country Clubs where he enjoyed many rounds of golf. Ted was the loving husband of Claire (Penney) Therrien for 42 years and cared for her until her passing on December 2, 1999. He is survived by his sons, Thomas Therrien and his wife Donna and their children Maile and Kalei of Kailua, HI and Timothy Therrien and his wife Rachel and their children Bryan and Brock of Auburn, NH, and his daughters Mary Bickford and her children Katelyn, Kimberlee, and Hannah of Farmington, NH, Kate Kelley and her children Griffin and Quinn of Strafford, NH, and Jennifer Dias and her husband Chris and their children Mackenzie, Jack and Drew of Rochester, NH. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers Alfred (Bud) Therrien and Paul Therrien as well as his sisters Betty (Weeks) Waterhouse and Mildred Boulay. He was greatly loved by his family and all those who had the good fortune to know him. Ted especially loved spending time with his family and especially loved holiday gatherings with extended family members and friends. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Amy's Treats / Seacoast Cancer Center, 789 Central Avenue, Dover, NH 03820. Family and friends may call from 2 PM to 4 PM and 6 PM to 8 PM on Sunday, March 25, 2012 at R.M. Edgerly, 86 S. Main Street, Rochester, NH. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Monday, March 26, 2012 at 11 am at St. Mary's Church located on Lowell Street in Rochester, NH, followed by a graveside burial at St. Mary cemetery.
