Errol D. Clark - 86 of Strafford, NH went to be with his Lord and Savior on July 10, 2018. He was born on February 26, 1932 in Strafford, NH, a true native, to the late Edson and Velma (Smith) Clark. Errol joined the Army in January 1951 and was assigned to the 82nd Airborne as a paratrooper. He was very proud of the fact that he made 26 jumps, one of which he broke his nose. In January 1952 he married Erma Joyce Messenger, of Strafford. After his discharge from the Army in 1953 he returned to Strafford where he attended trade school to become a machinist. He worked at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard as a toolmaker and retired in February 1987, after 30 years. Errol, Erma and their son Scott and his wife Paula were the original owners of the Isinglass Country Store which expanded from the Backyard Ice Cream and Snack Bar that was located in the Bow Lake Village. Errol enjoyed traveling in his motor home with family and friends and had the opportunity to see most of the US and parts of Canada. He also spent a lot of time at their home in Nova Scotia where Erma grew up. Errol was a hardworking man who did a lot for his family and friends. He also enjoyed talking about the olden days of Strafford, his beloved cats, and getting together for breakfast with his shipyard cronies. He is survived by his 5 children; Danny and his wife Lily Clark of Barnstead, NH, Nancy Goedker, Michael and his wife Wendy Clark, Steven Clark and Scott Clark all of Strafford, NH. He also leaves behind 9 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Preceding him in death was his loving wife Erma, of 65 years, his brother Everett Clark and grandson Patrick Clark. ______________________________________________________________________________ A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, July 21, 2018 at 11:00am at the Third Baptist Church of Strafford with Pastor Harold Muzzey officiating. Light refreshments to follow in the Christian Center. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Strafford Food Pantry.
