Somersworth - Eugene O. Brunelle, 93, a life long resident of Somersworth, NH and Wells Beach , ME, passed away March 18, 2016. Born September 29, 1922, to Eugene A. and Georgiana (Gaudette) Brunelle. Gene graduated from Somersworth High School in 1940. He served in WW11 as 2nd Lieutenant in the Army Air Corp in the Pacific as a B29 navigator. He was a member of the American Legion Post 69 and the VFW. Gene worked as a machinist at the Portsmouth Navel Shipyard before starting his own business, Brunelle Aluminum Products, Inc. which he operated for over 50 years. Gene loved spending time with his family, traveling the world with his wife and spending time with friends at Delray, Florida. He enjoyed an active lifestyle of skiing, sailing and swimming at Wells Beach and entertaining his grandchildren. He will always be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. Members of his family include his wife of 67 years Gertrude (Shea), daughters: Beverly Brunelle of CA, Nancy Baird of NY, son Bradley Brunelle of Portland,ME, five grandchildren, five great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Gene was predeceased by his brother Paul Brunelle and sister Lea Lewis. Friends and family may visit Friday, April 1, 2016 from 10:00-11:00 AM at the R.M. Edgerly and Son Funeral Home, 86 S. Main St. Rochester, NH. The funeral services will follow in the chapel at 11:00AM. Private burial will follow in the Holy Trinity Cemetery in Somersworth. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of ones choice.
