Evelyn Huppe

Evelyn Huppe Rochester - Nettie Evelyn Huppe, 103 years old, passed away peacefully February 10, 2023. Evelyn was born in Rochester on May 10, 1919, the daughter of the late Jeremiah and Minnie (Allen) Stuart. She spent all of her life in Rochester and lived in the same house since she was 8 years old. She worked at Dix-Wood Heel in East Rochester where she met her husband of 76 years. She was a home maker, and a very good one at that. She enjoyed her large vegetable garden which also included strawberries and blueberries. She would freeze and can the crop to have throughout the winter. She always had a beautiful flower garden. She was a member of the Portland Street and Salmon Falls Road group Port-Sal. This group of ladies would meet often to work on crafts, sewing and exchanging of their favorite recipes. During WWII she helped the Red Cross making wound care packages. She was an avid reader, with a special interest in history and made weekly trips to the Rochester library. She was creative in arts...
