Frances B. Cannon

Rochester – Frances B. Cannon, 91, passed away Thursday September 26, 2024, at her home surrounded by her family. Born March 14, 1933, in Somerville, MA, she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Bertha (Allen) Barrett. Fran worked for many years as an executive secretary for BayBank in Everett, MA. Upon retirement, she settled into the tranquility of the Nippo Lake community in Barrington. She was an accomplished knitter, sewer and crocheter, loved to bake, work on puzzles and play the piano. She savored visits with her sisters. Fran loved flowers and enjoyed watching the progress of the gardens that surrounded her home. She also delighted in keeping track of the birds that visited the garden feeders. Fran treasured her cats and could often be found working on a project with a cat curled in her lap. She was an avid reader, and particularly enjoyed historical nonfiction and mysteries. A good book or a new project to knit, along with a cup of tea, was her idea of contentment.
