Francis L Connelly

Rochester - Francis L. Connelly, 78, passed away Wednesday May 26, 2010 at Frisbie Memorial Hospital following a period of failing health. Born January 21, 1932 in Cambridge, MA he was the son of the late Francis and Helen (Smith) Connelly. On 5/26/10 we lost a beloved family member who will be greatly missed. He was a compassionate, funny, understanding person that was always there for so many. He was a joker, story teller (in a good way), and always knew what to say and do. He last worked with Digital Equipment Corporation until he retired in 1992. Since then he became very involved with hobby trains, his wife, his children and grandchildren. He had been very involved with the Boy Scouts of Amercia and loved talking about the time he spent as Assistant District Commissioner for his district in Lowell, MA. He was an avid camper/woodsman, a love he shared with his beloved Ruthann. Members of his family include his wife of 32 years Ruthann (Stott) Connelly of Rochester, NH; his children Richard B. Connelly and his wife Andrea of Lowell, MA; Juliet C. Carter and her husband Rocco Jr. of Tamworth, NH; Dorothy L. Marquis and her husband Robert of Littleton, MA; James J. Connelly and his wife Marilyn of S. Boston, MA; Shawn Lamoreux and his wife Maryann of NJ; Francis L. Connelly and his wife Regina of Erie, PA; Shannon Lane and her husband Brett of Middleton, NH; and Helen B. Connelly and her boyfriend Charlie Wheeler of Rochester, NH; nineteen grandchildren and nine great grandchildren, one brother Robert Connelly and his wife Betty of FL; two sisters Paula Nelson and Marilyn Murray both of Pownal, VT; several nieces and nephews. Family and friends may visit Tuesday June 1, 2010 from 11 AM - 12 PM at the R.M. Edgerly and Son Funeral Home, 86 S. Main St. Rochester, NH. A funeral service will be held at 12 PM in the chapel of the funeral home. Burial will take place at 2 PM in the NH State Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen, NH. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the NH Veterans Cemetery Assoc, PO Box 626, Concord, NH 03302-0626.
