Frank Morneault, 87, of East Rochester, went to rest peacefully at his home with his wife of 44 years, Nancy, holding his hand. Frank will remain forever in our hearts. Born in Dover on December 16, 1934, he was the son of the late Joseph and Cecelia (Hughes) Morneault. Frank was a graduate of Dover High School, class of 1954. He enlisted in the Navy at just 17, where he served two tours on the carrier USS Coral Sea (CV 43). Officially, his job was as a "gasser," which found him tethered and hanging precariously off the decks refueling fighter planes, often within mere feet of spinning propellers. Unofficially he acted as a barber during his off-duty hours. With that extra pocket money, he subsidized his travels in Cuba, Spain, France, Italy, Greece, and Turkey. While in Spain, his adventurous spirit led him to watch many bullfights and later participate in the Running of the Bulls in Pamplona. He was a man of many varied interests and talents. He loved high-speed adventures restoring, maintaining, and tuning cars, snowmobiles, and motorcycles. According to family legend, police on patrol knew his souped-up 1967 Ford Galaxie very well. He also enjoyed NASCAR racing, vintage cars, boating, offroading, competitive black powder shooting, camping, and walking in the woods. In quieter moments, he could be found wood carving and, in later years, watching his favorite YouTube Channels. Frank was also a proud member of American Legion Post 7. He continued to travel, including memorable cruises with his family to the Caribbean and, most recently, to Alaska. Above all, his family was first and foremost. He claimed to have the best jobs of his life at Sanel Auto Parts and later Robbins Auto Parts, from which he retired after thirty-plus years. He was well known for his work as a paint and autobody consultant. Frank managed his lengthy illness with OPMD with strength and grace. His survivors include his beloved wife of 44 years, Nancy (Davis) Morneault. Two sons; William Morneault and his wife Katheryn of Lebanon, NH, Joseph Morneault and his wife Carrie-Ann of Denver, CO, and a daughter; Susan Parshley and her husband Michael Carpenter of North Berwick, ME, daughter-in-law Stephanie Morneault of Berwick, grandchildren Ryan Brooks, Max Morneault, Maggie Morneault, Stella Carpenter-Parshley and three great-grandchildren. Frank was predeceased by his son, Michael Morneault, sisters Rosemary Watts and Catherine Kageleiry, and brothers David and William Morneault. He was also predeceased by his super dogs, Bubba Bear and Reverand Rufus. Frank will be buried at the New Cold Spring Cemetery in East Rochester. At his request, there will be no
