Fraser Nathan Browning

September 24, 1941 — February 17, 2025

Fraser Nathan Browning, of Rochester, NH, was born on September 24, 1941, and passed away peacefully on February 17, 2025 after two weeks fighting compounding illnesses (kidney disease and pneumonia) at Wenworth Douglass.

He was predeceased by his parents, Kenneth and Alma (Capron) Browning, as well as his beloved wife, Gloria (Brooks) Browning.

He is survived by his brother, Arnold Browning, and Arnold's wife, Daisy (Wilder); his daughter, Rebecca (Browning) Stuart, and her husband, James B. Stuart; and their four children: Audrey, Savannah, Liana, and Scotland. He is also survived by his brother's three sons: David, Daniel, and Stephen and their families; and his brother-in-law's children: David, Penny, and Brenda and their families.

Fraser was born in Central Falls, RI; graduated from Wheaton College in Illinois; served in the Army and later worked for USO in Vietnam. He then worked at World Airways in both California and Boston, followed by jobs at several hardware stores including Marine Lumber on Nantucket Island. He also made many connections as a teacher at Seacoast Christian School and as a substitute in the Rochester school system. He finally retired after 15 dedicated years at Home Depot.

He served faithfully as a Gideon, a Prison Fellowship worker, and a founding board member for WordRadio. He has also been a long-standing, active member of True Memorial Baptist Church.

Fraser treasured his roles as a protective older brother, a respectful son, a committed husband, a devoted father, and a loving grampa and uncle. He lived out his faith in God by generously sharing his resources and his life with anyone he thought he could help.

He will be warmly remembered for his genuine interest in others' well-being, his fascination for traveling to new places and re-visiting old ones, his rambling stories, his limitless enthusiasm for the possibilities of the farm, and his unstoppable "hand-over-mouth" laughter.

A memorial service will be held at True Memorial Baptist Church at 21 Ten Rod Rd in Rochester, NH on Saturday, March 22, 2025 at 11am. Luncheon to follow.

Donations in his memory can be made to the Gideons at https://www.sendtheword.org/ with the e-mail recipient's address: beckylstuart@duck.com
