Retired MSgt Frederick W. Greaves Sr. age 85, of Rochester died Saturday March 12, 2022 at Frisbie Memorial Hospital. Born March 9, 1937, in Sanford, Maine, he was the son of the late James and Katherine (Lees) Greaves Sr. He married the love of his life Sandra in 1981. He proudly served in the United States Air Force for 41 years and also served in law enforcement becoming Chief of Police in Sanford, Maine. After retiring Frederick and Sandra enjoyed traveling in their motorcoach where they made many friends along the way. He was a member of the Granite Staters, NH Blazers Motorcoach Association, and the Good Sam's Club. He also enjoyed cooking, watching the Red Sox and Patriots, making puzzles and model airplanes. Some of his favorite memories were decorating and hosting his annual Halloween party. He loved turning his house and garage into a spooky world for all to enjoy. He was blessed with wonderful neighbors that were more like family. He was pre-deceased by his wife Sandra (July 2021) and his daughters Barbara and Debbie and his son Frederick Jr. Members of his family include his daughters; Nicole Thibeault of Rochester, Diane Goodwin of Sanford ME, a son Thomas Thibeault of Sanford ME, many grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, Sister-in-law, Helen McCann and his loving dog Tina who will miss him dearly. A private committal Service will be held at Southern Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Springvale Maine, at a later date. Where both he and his wife Sandra will be buried together.
