Rochester- Frederick M. Steadman, 79, former Mayor of Rochester, of 6 Wentworth Ave died Monday, February 7, 2011 at the Frisbie Memorial Hospital. Born May 24, 1931 in Haverhill, MA. He was the son of the late James and Delia (Hayes) Steadman. He lived most of his life in East Rochester. He graduated from Spaulding High School class of 1949 Served in the US Air Force during the Korean Conflict. Graduated from Bentley College as a Public Accountant Fred started his career as a Public Accountant in partnership with Ted Bergeron. He had his own business as a Public Accountant for many years. Fred served the City of Rochester for many years and in many capacities. He was employed by the City of Rochester as City Accountant for 20 years, served as a School Board Member, Board member of the JBC for Spaulding High School, City Councilman; he served the City Rochester as mayor on the passing of Roland Roberge.
