Gail Lynne Milanese-Higgins, 63, of Ellicott City, MD was called home to the Lord peacefully while at home on July 24, 2014. She was the daughter of Edgar F. and Madeline (Parker) Raab and raised in East Rochester, NH, graduating in the Spaulding High School class of 1968. Gail is survived by her loving husband, James Robert Higgins, Jr. of Ellicott City, MD; her son, Jason (and Blaire) Milanese; grandchildren, Ella Rose and Hunter Raymond Milanese; stepsons James Robert Higgins III and William Taylor Higgins; her mother, Madeline Raab; brother, Donald (and Susan) Raab; sister, Elizabeth (and Eric) Willard; and sister, Jacqueline Raab. Gail had many friends and family who supported her along her 18-month journey with glioblastoma mulitforme (brain cancer). Many of her lifelong friends were made during her 35-year banking career which culminated at Chevy Chase Bank (now acquired by Capital One). The family wishes to thank all of the doctors and nurses for their many kindnesses and caring compassion at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, MD, Transitions Healthcare in Sykesville, MD and Gilchrist Hospice Care in Hunt Valley, MD. Calling hours will be held Thursday July 31st from 2-4 and 6-8pm at the R.M. Edgerly & Son Funeral Home, 86 South Main St, Rochester NH 03867, Funeral services will be held Friday at 10am in the chapel of the funeral home with burial to follow in the Rochester Cemetery In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations in Gail's name to a ministry of Father John's at the University of Maryland Baltimore County.
