Gary Wayne Smiledge

Gonic, NH- Gary Wayne Smiledge, 72, of Gonic died Tuesday Oct.  31, 2017 at Colonial Hill Rehab and Living Center after a period of failing health. He was born March 1, 1945 in Lynn, MA, the son of the late Earl and Catherine (Leighton) Smiledge. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was a member of the American Legion Post #7 of Rochester and the NH Amputee Group. Gary worked as a machinist at Sylvania for many years. He has resided in Gonic for the past 25 years previously living in Barnstead, NH. He enjoyed woodworking, shooting and especially riding his motorcycle. Members of his family include his sons, Scott Smiledge and Jay Smiledge; grandchildren, Isabella Ferragamo and Jeremy Smiledge; brothers, Mark, Brian, and Dana Smiledge; sister, Nina Sauvan and many nieces and nephews. A graveside service will military honors will be Tuesday Nov 7, 2017 at 10AM in the NH Veterans Cemetery, Boscawen, NH. In lieu of flowers donations in his name may be made to ST.
