Berwick, ME- Gary Michael Temple, 72, of died Thursday June 7, 2018 at Hyder Family Hospice House in Dover, NH. He was born June 11, 1945 in Marlborough, MA to the late Gordon "Mike" and Anna (Rollins) Temple. He has resided in Berwick for the past 9 years, previously living in Berlin, MA. Gary spent 25 years in Massachusetts politics including serving under Majority Leader William Q. MacLean, Speaker of the House George Keverian, Treasurer Robert Q. Crane, and retiring as an Assistant Director of the Lottery. He finished the last 17 years of his career at the Raynham Taunton Greyhound Park as General Manager. He was an active member of Trinity Anglican Church in Rochester, NH as well as an avid New England sports fan. His favorite things included being with all of his family and spending time with his many friends. Gary had a great sense of humor and always loved a good prank played on friends. Members of his family include his wife, Elizabeth (Seymour) Temple; children, Michael Temple and wife Deborah of Sterling, MA.; daughters, Alyssa Wagner and husband Joseph of Dover, NH, Jenny Temple and husband Mark Torriani of Eliot, ME; grandchildren Hannah, Zachary, Devin, Ashlee, Meredith, Avalyn, and Rocco; siblings, Gordon Temple, Linda Smith, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by sister Lizette Grady. A Requiem Mass will be celebrated Thursday June 14, 2018 at 11 AM in Trinity Anglican Church, Rochester Hill Road, Rochester, NH with Rev. Matthew Mirabile as celebrant. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Cemetery Road, Berwick, ME.
