George Colwell, 75, of Rollinsford NH and Zephyrhills FL passed away November 23rd at the Wentworth Douglas Hospital . He was born on March 7, 1938. He was the son of the late Kenneth SR and Rena (Caswell) Colwell. He served in the United States Navy, A member of the Humane Lodge #21 F & AM of Rochester as well as the Scottish Rite, and he enjoyed hunting with the guys up Maine . George and his wife Carlene owned and operated the East Side Bakery in East Rochester . He enjoyed going to the Seacoast Farmers Market selling there goods and enjoyed having their grandson, Joshua, helping them. George and his wife were campground host at the Covered Bridge Campgrounds on the Kancamagus Highway in Conway NH.He was a Rochester fire fighter for 28 years and retired as Deputy Chief. He was survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Carlene (Jacobs) Colwell,Two sons Brian Colwell and Sue of Rollinsford NH and Christopher Colwell and his wife Vicky of Rochester NH . ; daughter-in-law, Jessica Colwell of Rochester; two brothers, Kenneth Colwell and his wife Janet of West Newfield ME and Carroll Colwell of Lebanon ME. Eight grandchildren, Honora Clegg, Gwen Perkins and her husband Scott of Rochester, Joshua Colwell and his wife Lynn of Gonic and Justin Colwell and Nicole of Gonic, Anthony Colwell, Jammie McFadden, Samantha Colwell, and Sarah Colwell all of Rochester NH, eight great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. George was preceded in death by his father Kenneth Colwell Sr., his mother Rena Colwell, his son Alan Colwell, and his sister-n-law Kathy Colwell. Memorial calling hours will held Saturday from 12pm-2pm with a memorial service to be held at 2pm in the Chapel of the R.M. Edgerly & Son Funeral Home, 86 South Main St, Rochester NH 03867.
