George Wooding, Jr

Rochester - George Wooding, Jr. 67, passed away Sunday May 8, 2016 at his home following a period of failing health.   Born February 17, 1949 in Welch, WV son of the late George and Ernestine (Gregory) Wooding, Sr.   Mr. Wooding was a Vietnam Veteran and retired from the US Army. During his service he was awarded the Purple Heart and Bronze Star.   George loved to fish, listening to music, and taking walks.   Members of his family include his wife of 42 years Gerti (Oepen) Wooding, two children Philip Simms of MD, and Nina Wooding of Rochester, NH four grandchildren DeAndre, Isaiah, Phillip, and Brendan, his siblings Robert Wooding and wife Shirley of Charleston, WV, Mattie Wooding of Franklin, TN, Annie Wooding of Flint, MI, Brenda Mack and husband Howard of Middletown, OH, and Myanzie Clark of Franklin, OH, many nieces and nephews and a special nephew Tyrese Wooding.   He was predeceased by two sisters and one brother.   A funeral service will be held Saturday May 14, at 11AM in the chapel of the R.M....
