Barrington, NH- George A. Lovejoy, 83, of 638 Scruton Pond Road died Thursday Feb. 5, 2015 at his home after a long illness. He was born May 24, 1931 in Portland, OR the son of the late John H. and Jennie (Stevens) Lovejoy. He was a graduate of Spaulding high School, Class of 1949 and served four years in the U.S. Navy as a cook during the Korean War and six years in the reserves. George was a real estate broker and owned and operated his business, Lovejoy Real Estate. He was a member of the Milton Assembly of God Church. George had a love for his country and was well known for his fight for lower taxes and conservative causes in New Hampshire. Members of his family include his wife of 16 years, Sharon (Chmielewski) Lovejoy; sons, John Lovejoy, Shelbyville, KT, William Lovejoy, Odenton, MD.; daughters, Wendy Maskell, Saco, ME., Susan Grant, Rochester, NH, Joni Lund, Moodus, CT., Laura Lavoie, Newmarket, NH, Sarah Dodier, Dover, NH; sister, Gracie Austin, St. Johnsbury, VT; 18 grandchildren, several great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins. He was predeceased by brother, Jack Lovejoy. Family and friends may visit Tuesday 2-4 & 6-8pm at the R.M. Edgerly & Son Funeral Home, 86 South Main Street, Rochester, NH The funeral service will be Wednesday Feb. 11, 2015 at 11AM in the chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Al Weeden officiating.
