George A. Pringle

George Pringle, 83, of Rochester, NH and formerly of Somerville, MA passed away at Portsmouth Hospital on Sunday, July 28, 2024, after suffering from injuries sustained in a scooter accident on Father's Day at the Victorie Club in Rochester. Born in South Fork, PA on October 15, 1940. He was the son of the late Paul and Leah (Wilson) Pringle.He is survived by his daughter Tracey and partner Phil Schoenheit, of Rochester, NH; grandson Austin Nichols and wife Alyssa of Elmendorf AFB, Anchorage, AK. Brother Jim and wife Joann Pringle of Schellsburg, PA and Sister Charlotte Bozich of New Paris, PA; Several nieces and nephews, as well as friends who became family over the years. He was predeceased by his wife, Dorothy (King) Pringle; three sisters, Patricia Tighe, Mary Turner and Linda Stuart; two brothers, twins Chuck and Glenn Pringle; a nephew, Scott Stuart and niece Cindy Alba. He grew up in Johnstown, PA and entered the US Navy in 1957, serving in the Korean War. He was a self-employed Barber, a skill learned in the Navy. He owned several barber shops, the last in the State Street Bank Building in Boston, from where he retired. He enjoyed friendships the last several years with other Veteran's at the American Legion in Rochester, as well as the Milton Moose and the Victorie Club in Rochester. Before retirement, he enjoyed traveling to the Bahamas and Cancun, dancing, and Salisbury Beach with his wife; he loved Deep Sea and Lake fishing. He was very proud of his grandson and enjoyed time spent with him over the years. We would like to thank the Portsmouth Hospital staff for amazing care over the last six weeks, as well as Beacon Hospice for providing top notch care in his last days. At his request, there will be no visiting hours. A Graveside Service will be held at 11am on Tuesday, August 6, 2024, at the Cambridge Cemetery, 76 Coolidge Ave, Cambridge, MA provided by Edgerly Funeral Home, Rochester, NH.
