KITTERY, Maine - The Rev. George Stoddard Stone, 96, formerly of Meeting House Village passed away Nov. 1, 2009, at the Gaffney Home in Rochester, N.H.Born July 16, 1913 in Bristol, Conn., he was the son of the late Paul and Pauline (Fairclough) Stone.The Rev. Stone graduated from New England School of Theology in Brookline, Mass., in 1935. He served along with his wife in Advent Christian Churches in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Maine and Vermont. His pastoral ministry spanned over 60 years. He was an accomplished pianist and organist. He was greatly loved and will be missed by family and friends.Members of his family include his children, Sherwood S. Stone and wife, Dorothy, Glenn N. Stone and wife, Carol, and the Rev. Arthur G. Stone and wife, Judy; his brother, Maurice and wife, Mary Jane Stone; 11 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.He was predeceased by his loving wife, Doris A. (Noyes) Stone; two brothers, Lawson Stone and Kenneth Stone.Friends and family may visit Tuesday, Nov. 3, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the R. M. Edgerly & Son Funeral Home, 86 S.
