Gerard "Jerry" Lavalley Sr.

Rochester, NH- On Thursday, June 16, 2022, Gerard "Jerry" LaValley Sr., 67, passed away unexpectedly from complications of a hip fracture at Wentworth Douglass Hospital in Dover, NH. Jerry was born in Exeter, NH, the son of the late Frank LaValley and the late Lorraine DesRoches Schnarr. He attended Portsmouth High School until he joined the U.S Army in 1972. He served his country until he was honorably discharged in 1977. He grew up in Portsmouth, NH but resided most of his life in Rochester, NH. Jerry was a member of Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge 443, a member of the Rochester Lions Club, and a lifetime member of the American Legion. He was one-of-a-kind and loved by everyone who knew him. In Jerry's younger years, he enjoyed working on cars, fishing, playing bingo, keno and cribbage, and was very dedicated and supportive of his childrens' sporting events. For the past ten years, nothing was more important to him than spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren. Jerry was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. In 1972, he married Leigh Ann Pitman and had two children. In 1994, Jerry then married Rhonda Trombley and went on to have three more children, while being a loving parent to his step-daughter from Rhonda's previous marriage. Jerry is predeceased by his parents; Brother, Joseph LaValley; Sister, Lila Wombles and sister in-law, Tina Biron. He is survived by his wife, Rhonda LaValley; Brother, Frank LaValley; Brother in-laws, Ernest Wombles, Richard Trombley, and James "Jim" Trombley; Children, Dannielle Smith, Jason Berube, Justin LaValley, Destiny (Jason) Moore,  Deborah (Benjamin) Lugo and step-daugher, Kari Smith; Grandchildren, Dylan, Dominic, Jason Jr., Hunter, and Emma; Great grandchild, Korinne; and many other family members including nieces, nephews, and cousins. Services for Jerry will be held on Friday, July 8, 2022 at R.M Edgerly and Son Funeral Home located at 86 South Main Street in Rochester, NH, from 5:00pm - 7:00pm. A Celebration of Life will follow for anyone who would like to attend, at the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge, at 45 Chestnut Street, Dover, NH 03820. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Wentworth Douglass Foundation at 789 Central Ave, Dover, NH 03820.
