Gert Brunelle

Mary Gertrude (Shea) Brunelle Gert Brunelle, 96, a lifelong resident of Somersworth, NH and Wells, ME, passed away peacefully December 2, 2021. Born on April 11, 1925, she was the oldest child of Richard D. Shea and Marie Emilda Fortier. She attended Holy Trinity Elementary School and graduated from Somersworth High School in 1942. Gert had a long, fulfilling life and loved being a quintessential homemaker. She took great pride in raising her children and providing a loving and welcoming environment for family and friends. She will be remembered for engaging conversations, her Yankee sense of humor and her passion for the Celtics and Patriots. Gert enjoyed summers at Wells Beach, winters in Delray Beach, Florida, as well as adventures traveling the world with her husband, Gene. Those who loved her will miss her nurturing spirit, her infectious laugh, and her endearing tenacity. She was pre-deceased by her husband of 67 years, Eugene O. Brunelle, and her sisters, Barbara A.Young and Ruth Hebert.  She is survived by her brother, Richard J. Shea, her children; Beverly, Nancy, and Bradley, her five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.  She will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend.
