Rochester, NH- Harry G. Marcotte, Jr. 90, of Rochester passed away Friday Aug. 5, 2016 at his home with his family by his side. He was born March 20, 1926 in Exeter, NH, the son of the late Harry G. Sr. and Rose (Carbonneau) Marcotte. He was a graduate of Exeter High School, Class of 1943 and was a volunteer for the Exeter Fire Dept on Engine 1. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during WWII in the South Pacific and the Atlantic. Harry was co-founder of Collins Sports Center in 1984 and later Marcotte Trophy and Awards. An avid Boston sports fan he also played hockey until he was in his sixties. He was a fourth degree member of the Knights of the Columbus in Rochester and a communicant of St. Mary Church. Members of his family include his wife of 67 years, Florence (Walsh) Marcotte, sons, Stephen Marcotte, William and wife Mary Marcotte; daughters, Ellen and husband Bill Tostevin, Anne and husband Dale Mansfield, Maggie and husband Phil Tewell; 14 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; "brother" Roger Tremblay and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son James M. Marcotte in 2002 and two infant sisters.   Family and friends may visit Monday Aug. 8, 2016 from 5-7PM at the R.M. Edgerly & Son Funeral Home, 86 South Main Street, Rochester, NH. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday at 10AM at St. Mary Church, 71 Lowell Street, Rochester, NH with Fr. Edward Kelley as celebrant. Private burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery. Family flowers only, and donations in his memory are suggested to Cornerstone VNA and Hospice, 178 Farmington Road, Rochester, NH 03867 or the charity of ones' choice.
