Rochester - Henry K. Roberts III "Hank" passed away on Tuesday, March 27, 2018 at the Hyder Family Hospice House in Dover. He was born in Medford, MA on March 27, 1932, son of Henry II & Miriam (Emery) Roberts.Hank was a Veteran, serving with the US Air Force during the Korean War as a cryptologist in Washington D.C. During his lifetime, Hank was very active in the community in various capacities. He served as a Rochester Jaycees President, a State of NH Jaycees President, a Rochester Chamber of Commerce President, a Kawanis Club President, a Rochester Rotarian, a member of the Bektash Shriners of NH, a member on the Board of Governors of the Shrine Maple Sugar Bowl, and a 59 year member of the #21 Humane Lodge Masons in Rochester.In 1957 Hank settled down in Rochester and began his life-long career in sales, which was focused on insurance and real estate. Included in his career was Vice President of Varney's Insurance in Rochester, Owner of Farmington Insurance Agency, Manager of the Insurance Premium Division of Bank East in Rochester, and Owner/Broker of RW Real Estate in Farmington.Hank was an avid football enthusiast his entire life. In addition to playing football in high school, college, and the Air Force, he went on to play and coach Semi-Pro Football for the NE Tri-City Chargers. Once he gave up playing the game he enjoyed Refereeing both football and lacrosse, and served as a Commissioner of the NH Football Officials Association.Hank also loved the outdoors. He enjoyed boating, fishing, and hunting with friends & family, and spent as much time as possible on the golf course. He especially loved playing golf with his brother and nephew.Hank is survived by his wife Rita (Lemoyne) Roberts, daughter Jay Haber & husband Jim of South Hadley, MA, daughter Coral Jones & husband Bill of Rochester, daughter Kim Staples & husband Jim of Rochester, daughter LeeAnn Lajoie & husband Darryl of Wakefield, daughter Hendra Roberts & fiancé Patrick Lanoue of Somersworth, 10 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, his brother Donald Roberts & wife Lorraine of Williamsburg, VA, and his nephew Don Roberts & wife Jennifer of Salisbury MD.Visiting hours will be held at Edgerly's Funeral Home on Saturday, April 14th, from 11:00 to 12:30, followed by a Masonic Service and Memorial Prayer.In lieu of flowers, contributions in Hanks memory can be made to the Shiners' Hospital for Children.
