Herman Clarence Canney

Somersworth, NH- Herman Clarence "Fudda" Canney, III, 75, of 11 Canney Court died Monday Aug. 25, 2014 at his home after a period of failing health. He was born Sept. 30, 1938 in Rochester, NH the son of the late Herman C. Canney, Jr. and Rachel (Weeks) Canney. He has resided in this area all of his life and worked many years as a general manager at Cumberland Farms in Somersworth and Rochester. He had a great sense of humor and many people stopped by the store just to visit with him. Prior to Cumberland Farms, he worked at General Electric Company and Heberts Market. "Fudda" enjoyed playing golf and was a former member of the Sunningdale Country Club. He coached little league baseball and loved watching hockey. He helped to get the Somersworth High School hockey program started and served as the Booster Club president for the first few years.
