MANCHESTER, CT - Ivory M. Sanborn, Jr., 64 passed away peacefully on May 10 at Manchester Memorial Hospital in Manchester, CT after a long illness. Ivory was born in Rochester, NH on August 2, 1947 to the late Ivory and Dorothy Sanborn. Ivory was raised in Rochester where he attended local schools. In 1969 Ivory moved to Manchester, CT where he met his wife of 40 years, Margaret Broadt. Ivory was employed by Dexter Paper Mill in Windsor Locks, Ct. until his retirement due to illness. He is survived by his wife Margaret, his son William J., his step-mother Olive F. Sanborn of Bridgeton, ME, his three brothers Clifton I. Sanborn and his wife Lorraine of Manchester, CT, Robert C. Sanborn of Stafford Springs, CT, David L. Sanborn and his wife Barbara of Wolfboro, NH, his sister Carole L. Sanborn of Falmouth, ME. He is also survived by his step brother Roland Nadeau and his wife Linda of Windham, ME, his step sisters Connie Upson of Naples, ME, Patricia Gagnon and her husband Clement of Old Orchard Beach, ME. He is also survived by his brother-in-law James Broadt his wife Sherry of Florida, his life-long friend Roger Laundry, his wife Sandy and their daughter Michelle who is Ivory's God child and several nieces and nephews. Ivory's greatest joy in his life was his son Billy. Friends and family are invited to a time of visitation from 4:30 PM to 7:00 PM on Monday, May 14th at Edgerly and Son Funeral Home on 86 So. Main St., Rochester, NH, where a memorial service will be held on Tuesday, May 15 at 2:00PM. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Somersworth, NH.
