Jacqueline Michel

Rochester - Jacqueline Michel, 86, died peacefully at her home surrounded by family on Saturday May 25, 2013. Born May 16, 1927 in Somersworth, NH she was the daughter of the late William and Hazel (Kinsman) Kennedy. Jacqueline grew up in Somersworth and graduated third in her class from Somersworth High School. Jacqueline worked as a secretary for the SAU 56 Superintendents Office for many years. Jacqueline married her husband of 64 years, Leo A. Michel Sr. in 1948 and raised six wonderful children. She was a kind and caring woman whose life centered around her family. Throughout her early years, she enjoyed spending time at Old Orchard Beach with her brothers, sisters, and cousins. Most recently, Jacqueline and her husband Leo spent the winters in Port St. Lucie, Fl. with their eldest son Leo and his wife Linda. Family always came first to Jacqueline, as they were her pride and joy. She was the happiest when surrounded by family. She enjoyed Sunday dinners, holiday parties, and attending her children's, grandchildren's, and great grandchildren's events. Members of her family include her husband Leo A. Michel, Sr. of Rochester, NH; her children Diane Michel Norton and husband John of Gorham, ME; Leo Michel, Jr and wife Linda of Port St. Lucie, FL; Denise Caplette and husband James of Rochester, NH; Dana Michel and wife Maureen of Somersworth, NH; Jack Michel and wife Karen of Rochester, NH; and Jan Melchior and husband Kent of Rochester, NH; eleven grandchildren: Michel, Dennis, Ryan, Nathan, Tanna, Evan, Lindsay, Ashley, Mallory, Kendra, and Corey; nine great grandchildren: Lauren, Matthew, Annie, Elizabeth, Gabrielle, Avery, Jaxton, Gavin, and Trey; her siblings Alice Dreinczyk of Strafford, NH; and Frank Kennedy and wife Doris of Somersworth, NH; nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by three siblings William Kennedy, Marilyn Brackett, and Annette Kilroy. Family and friends may visit Thursday May 30, 2013 from 11:30 AM - 1 PM at the R. M. Edgerly and Son Funeral Home, 86 S. Main St. Rochester, NH. A memorial service will be held at 1PM in the chapel of the funeral home. Burial will follow in the Forest Glade Cemetery in Somersworth, NH. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Hospice program at Cornerstone VNA, 178 Farmington Rd, Rochester, NH 03867.
