James E. Brown

Strafford, NH- James E. Brown, 90, of Province Road passed away Tuesday Oct. 12, 2021 at his home after a period of failing health.He was born Oct. 23, 1930 in Somerville, MA and has resided here for the past 37 years. He serviced in the US Marines from 1952 -1954. Jim worked as an iron worker for the local union and a custodian for the National Guard. He loved agriculture; growing plants and flowers. Jim was a great handyman and hard worker. He was a member of Cross Point Church in Rochester. Members of his family include his wife of 64 years, Adrienne (Jones) Brown; son, Neil Brown and companion Barbara Bennett; daughters, Marcia Wilkins and husband Jeffrey, Rachel Brown; grandchildren, Ryan and Chris Brown, Jeffrey and Ashley Wilkins, Nichole Wilkins; great grandchildren, Lindsay, Michael, Jon and Brody; brothers, Dr. John Brown deceased, David Brown; sister, Nancy Brenneman and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held Thursday Oct. 21, 2021 at 1 PM in the chapel of the R.M. Edgerly & Son Funeral Home, 86 South Main Street, Rochester, NH. followed by a graveside service in Center Strafford Cemetery, Strafford, NH with military services. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Cross Point Church Building Fund, 150 Wakefield Street, Rochester, NH 03867.
