Rochester NH-James "Jim" F. McManus, Jr.,71 died Wednesday February 22, 2017 at the Frisbie Memorial Hospital. Born July 1, 1945 in Rochester NH he was the son of the late James F SR and Eleanor (Crowe) McManus Jim is a lifelong resident of Rochester. He is a graduate of St. Thomas Aquinas High School, Class of 1965. After high school Jim dedicated a lot of time working with his dad selling apples and woodstoves. In 1972 he began his career in local politics starting out as a campaigner for candidates. In 1974 he began his 27-year tenor as a city councilor in Rochester. He also served in the House of Representatives for a 2-year term, police commissioner for a six year term, deputy mayor for a one year term and on the planning board. In 2008 he retired then worked part time at the Strafford County Court House in Dover as a bailiff.
