Janet Poulin, 72, of Rochester, NH passed away on Saturday December 11, 2021 at Watson Field Assisted Living Facility after battling a long illness. Janet was born in Dover, NH on July 16, 1949 to James and Valerie Beckingham. She was a graduate of The University of New Hampshire. Janet spent her life helping those in need. Throughout her career she was the Director of Social Services at the Rochester Manor, The Director of Human Services for Strafford County and finished her career as the Director of Welfare for the city of Dover until she retired in 2013. Janet enjoyed spending time with her family, friends and was always someone to be relied on. Janet was also a Master Bridge player, winning the New Hampshire State Championship in 1971 and an avid bowler. She was a member of the Elks, Emblem Club, and the Sons and Daughters of the American Legion. Janet was predeceased by her parents, James and Valerie, younger sister Avis and Husband David Poulin. Janet leaves behind her beloved daughter Tara Kizirian, and only grandson Declan Kizirian. Her younger brother James Beckingham and long-time companion Donald Spittle. Also left behind are Tara's brother Ty ,sister Caitlin and previous husband and friend Peter Cosgrove. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Pope Memorial Humane Society, 221 County Farm Road Dover, NH 03820. A grave side service will be held Saturday 12/18/2021 at 11:00 AM at St. Mary Cemetery at 43 Dover Point Rd. Dover, NH 03820. After the ceremony there will be a Celebration of Life at Kelley's Row, 417 NH-108 Somersworth, NH 03878; from 12:00 PM - 3:00 PM.
