Obituary

Jarett Daniel Catlin, age 33, passed away on Friday, January 16, 2026 from injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident. He was born in Rochester NH on October 6,1992 and was raised in Farmington NH. Jarett was currently residing in Scott, Ohio with his wife.

Upon meeting Jarett the first thing you would notice would be his beautiful blue eyes and his warm smile. You would then encounter his kindness, most likely his sense of humor, and if you were lucky, his laugh.

Jarett loved his family deeply. Being Sophia’s Dad was his most cherished and proudest life event. He would often lovingly call her Miss Bean. He loved his wife and adored her daughters. They shared many happy moments and memories in a very short time together. His sisters were not just sisters - they were his best friends and sometimes his minor annoyances. His Mom and Dad were and always will be his day one and his most trusted confidants. His many aunts, uncles, cousins and nephews can look back at their times spent with him and recall happy memories and a good story or two because when Jarett was around a joke or a prank was never far away. And if you are his friend you went on quite a ride through this life with him. He cherished your friendships.

Throughout his life Jarett was given quite a few loving nicknames - Freddy, Uncle Jibby, Gerald, Jare Bear, and J Master J. He also had loving nicknames for others - if he gave you one you know!

Jarett is a 2011 graduate of Farmington High School. He enjoyed most outdoor activities, including snowmobiling, skiing, hiking, and tubing and boating at the lake. One activity he loved more than any was racing snowmobiles. He raced in regional and national circuits, accomplishing many wins and championships throughout the years. He made lifelong friends within the racing community.

He spent his working years in various Information Technology (IT) roles which captured his attention and curiosity. Problem solving was a trait that seemed to come easily to Jarett as he always wanted to be the one to fix things.

Jarett is survived by his daughter Sophia Ann Catlin, his wife Jerrickah Catlin and her daughters Arabella, Maizlee, and Delilah, sister Samantha Palmer, her husband Tim and their four sons Levi, Jack, Wade, and Bode, sister Abigail Catlin and her son Wilder Catlin, parents Jeff and Colette Catlin, and many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He is reunited with both sets of loving grandparents, his hilariously funny cousin Henry Catlin and a couple partners in crime.

There is now an empty space in many lives that was once occupied by his beautiful bright light. It is our hope that he be remembered for his kind heart. The heart of a best friend that you could call and tell anything to with no judgement. The heart of a brother who loved so deeply. The heart of a son who looked at his parents like they hung the stars every night. And his sisters would add that he be remembered for always looking like he was up to something.

Perhaps, in his memory, you would consider wearing mis-matched socks and even better if they’re not your own!

A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 24th from 2:30 pm – 4:30 pm at Edgerly Funeral home in Rochester NH.
