Jayne Lilian Crowell

Jayne Lilian Crowell of Rochester, New Hampshire, passed away at home on Tuesday, November 19, 2024, after a long illness. She was 77.
Jayne was born on February 9, 1947, in Somerville, Massachusetts to parents William Burke and Lois Burke (Prescott).
In 1966 she married the love of her life Gerald Crowell, starting a family with him and his two sons, Keith and Kyle. Together they had three children William, Stephen and Peter. This family grew with the eventual addition of 6 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. According to her son, Stephen, visits from family were her “happy place.” She relished any time she could spend with them.
Together, Jayne and Gerald traveled the world. She especially enjoyed visiting Ireland, Greece and New Zealand. They also went frequently to Nova Scotia in order for her to explore one of her other interests, family history.
A lover of language, Jayne was an avid reader. However, she found her career in numbers, working in bookkeeping and payroll, eventually starting her own business.
Jayne leaves behind her sisters, Martha and Kathleen, her brother Gary, her children, Keith, Kyle, Stephen, and Peter along with numerous extended family and friends. She is predeceased by her father, mother and son, William.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the staff and administration of Cornerstone Visiting Nurses, Karen Fernades (neighbor).
A celebration of Jayne’s life will be held February 9 at the Tara Estates Club House 53 Eagle Dr, Rochester, NH from 1:00pm to 3:00pm. A graveside commitment service will be held at a later date. In Lieu of flowers, Jayne requested donations to a charity of choice or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
