STRAFFORD - Jean (Johanna) Hodgdon, 82, of went to be with her Lord Jesus on Sunday, Aug. 9, 2009. She was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., on Sept. 7, 1926, to Alf G. Andersen and Johanna Andersen.She moved to New Hampshire in 1944, where she met her husband, Maurice C. Hodgdon. They together, had six loving children, Kenneth Hodgdon, and his wife, Linda, of Nottingham, Wayne Hodgdon and his wife, Theresa, of Strafford, Gloria Lanza and her husband, Robert, of Nottingham, Maurice (Mike) Hodgdon and his wife, Judy, of Barnstead, Gary Hodgdon and his wife, Terry, of Barrington, Scott Hodgdon and his wife, Christine, of Strafford. She was employed over the years at Gossville Textile Mill in Epsom, Harmon Shoe shop in Raymond, UNH, and Wentworth-Douglass Hospital. Jean had been an active member of The Barrington Evangelical Church and Walnut Grove Church of Rochester.She was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Maurice Hodgdon; son, Kenneth Hodgdon, and her brother, Albert Andersen of Barrington. Remaining family members include her sisters, Martha Emro of Northwood, and Gladys George of Broadbrook, Conn., her 12 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Seacoast Hospice, 10 Hampton Road, Exeter, NH 03833-4806.Friends and family may visit Wednesday, Aug. 12, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the R. M. Edgerly & Son Funeral Home, 86 S. Main Street, Rochester.A funeral service will be held Thursday, Aug. 13, at 11 a.m. in the chapel of the R.M Edgerly & Son Funeral Home, 86 S.
