Rochester- Jean Haralson Parker, 89, died Thursday, July 26 at the Hyder Family Hospice house in Dover. Born March 8, 1923 in Black River Falls, WI. She was the daughter of the late Fred and Merle (Sholes) Haralson. In 1943, Jean met and married Robert H. Parker, a native of Hartford, CT. She was a career housewife and mother. The family moved several times following Robert's career in the insurance industry. Eventually, they retired to Olde Lyme, CT, where Jean became a docent at the Florence Griswold Museum giving guided tours of the current exhibitions, the Griswold House, the gardens & grounds. Jean & Robert moved to NH in 2001 where she volunteered at The Homemakers. Members of her family include her daughter Candace Weeks of Rochester. Her sister Ione Metzke of Indiana. Her granddaughter Wendy (Beal) Maquera and husband Andre of Vermont. Her great grandson Andre (Mingo) Maquera of Vermont. Many loved and cherished nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years Robert H. Parker and her son-in-law Francis O. Weeks.
