Jeannine Vahey

Strafford - Jeannine (Memere) Vahey, 85, passed away Sunday November 30, 2014 at her home following a period of failing health. Born January 27, 1929 in Somerville, MA daughter of the late Thelma Douglass. She was raised by her grandparents Judson and Annie Rowe. Mrs. Vahey was a homemaker who loved cooking and taking care of her family. She enjoyed going to Florida in the winters, playing golf, watching and feeding humming birds. Taking trips to Wal-Mart, and her weekly hair appointments. Members of her family include her husband James (Jigger) Vahey of Strafford, NH; her daughter Dellann Jewell and Husband Bruce of Rochester, NH; two step children Sheila Vahey of Strafford, NH; and James Vahey and wife Joan of Concord, MA; her grandchildren including a very special granddaughter Jodie Daudelin and husband Douglas, Joshua Hale, Torey Bethke and husband Jerid and Stephen Portie, II and wife Carrie and Maddie and Seamus Vahey, her great grandchildren Codi and Kianna Daudelin Tyler and Joshua Hale, Jr. and Ashton, Addison and Preston Bethke, many nieces and nephews, including a very special niece Cathy Hutchins. She was predeceased by two sisters Norma Hutchins and Lorraine Reynolds. Family and friends may visit Friday December 5, from 4-6 PM at the R.M. Edgerly and Son Funeral Home, 86 S. Main St. Rochester, NH. A funeral service will be held at 6PM in the chapel of the funeral home.
