Jennifer Leavitt

Jennifer Marie Leavitt (October 25, 1969- July 27, 2020) Jennifer M. Leavitt, 50, a resident of Rochester passed away Monday July 27, 2020, from natural causes, at her childhood home with her son James by her side. Jenn was born in Portsmouth, N.H. on October 25, 1969 to Stanley and Lillian Leavitt.  She was the oldest of the three Leavitt children. Jenn went to Rochester Schools most of her life and was a 1988 graduate of Spaulding High School.  After graduating from S.H.S. she went to NHTI-Concord to get her degree in early childhood education.  She was employed by the Early Head Start of Strafford County for several years.  She also cared for numerous children at a private daycare in Rochester. Other positions included being the manager for several D'Angelos & Subway Restaurants which allowed her to live all over New Hampshire including Concord, Manchester, Keene , Barrington.  She also enjoyed working in the office of Flat Rock Bridge Resort seasonally for the last decade.  She was also her father Stanley's primary caregiver for several years. On November 9, 1993, Jenn gave birth to her son James and had her daughter, Elizabeth on September 3, 1995, her greatest accomplishments. She enjoyed raising and spending time with her family, her many trips with James, playing card games, collecting stamps, going to concerts/musicals, her recent adventures with Elizabeth, watching TV/movies, babysitting/educating her niece & granddaughter, all New England Sports teams, a nice hard game of Sudoku.  She valued her special times with her boyfriend Ted Garland for over a decade. Jenn also enjoyed her many summers in Lancaster, N.H. helping out her family at Roger's Campground where she made many fond memories and lifelong friends. Jenn is predeceased by her grandparents: Harold & Dorothy Leavitt, Roger & Berthe Choquette, her parents: Stanley & Lillian Leavitt, her aunts & uncles: Helen, Ellen, David & Richard Leavitt, her cousin: Laurie Doggett. Jenn is survived by her son James McDonald-Rochester, her daughter Elizabeth Houston (granddaughter Eleanor)-Epping.  She has a brother & sister in-law Christopher & Kim Leavitt (Rian, Mary, Ben)-Lancaster and her sister & brother in-law Jessica & William Henderson (niecey Lilliyana)-Rochester. Her aunts & uncles Anne, Rachel, Lisa, Barbara, Bernie, Ernie and her cousins Julie, Mark, Scott and Zach. There will be a celebration of life for Jenn held on Friday, August 7, 2020, starting at 5:00 PM at Edgerly's Funeral Home, Main Street Rochester, N.H. 03867.  *PLEASE WEAR A MASK WHILE INSIDE THE BUILDING*     Graveside services will be at a later date.  Jenn will be laid to rest with her parents and grandparents at the Catholic Cemetery in Lancaster, N.H. In lieu of flowers, please donate to The Strafford County Head Start or any early education program so Jennifer's legacy of teaching all children will go on and on.
