Joan Mabel Cheney

Dover - Joan Mabel (Hayes) Cheney passed away at home in Dover, New Hampshire on Tuesday May 30, 2023, with her family close by. She was born March 1st, 1938 at home in Lebanon, Maine. She was the daughter of John H. Hayes and Beatrice (White) Hayes. She graduated from Spaulding High School, class of 1955. Joan worked for Public Service of New Hampshire and Tri State Gas / Eastern Propane of New Hampshire. She was a beautiful pianist who often played in her grandfather's 'Victor White Band'. She married Robert Arthur Cheney September 7th, 1957, they would celebrate over 60 years together. They had a son, Robert Arthur Cheney Jr.. Her greatest joy was being a wife, mother and grandmother to her family. Joan was predeceased by her parents John and Beatrice Hayes, her husband Robert A. Cheney and her son Robert A.
