Joan Seavey

Sunapee- On September 19,  2020 Joan Monica Bilson Seavey ascended from this earthly realm to join her beloved husband in the kingdom of heaven. Joan was born November 30, 1932 in Haden Heights, NJ to Albert Colgan Bilson and Grace Angela  (Meehan) Bilson. Joan grew up enjoying a world where she could hop the bus to Philly even as a teenager, summer with family on the Jersey shore, or attend a celebration to commission a new ship as a young child with her father. Joan graduated with a full college scholarship to the University of Wisconsin majoring in Journalism. Joan and her friends had other plans. They were going to be nurses. She graduated from St. Joseph's Hospital School of Nursing, Philadelphia,PA in 1953. After graduating she and her lifelong dear friend Thelma (Homschek) Jamison would have grand adventures doing private duty nursing, being involved in one of the first heart valve transplants and then those two young women would  hop in the car and gallivant halfway across the country to check on...
