John H. Barker

Dover, NH- John H. Barker, 91, of 21 Piscataqua Road died Sunday March 13, 2011 at Wentworth-Douglass Hospital after a brief illness. Born Dec. 9, 1919 in Lumberton, NC he was the son of the late Neil and Martha (Malone) Barker. John has resided in Dover for the past 32 years previously living in Rochester. He served in the U.S. Marines during WWII in the South Pacific Theatre as sergeant for 6 years. He retired as a lineman from Public Service Company of NH after working for 30 years then retired from New England Cablevision. John was an active member of the I.B.E.W. and the United State Trotting Association. He was a driver and trainer of standard breed of horses for twenty-five years. Members of his family include the love of his life, Eleanor E.
