Gonic - John W. Chick, 65 passed away Wednesday, September 8, 2010 at his home following a period of failing health. Born January 15, 1945 in Rochester, NH he was the son of the late Earl and Marion Chick. John graduated from Somersworth High School in 1963. Following that he earned his Citizens Radio Station License from the FCC. Many people knew him as Johnny-Jay while working in radio for WWNH. He also co-owned the Scenic Theatre in Rochester and the Route 16 Drive-In until the early 80s. More recently he worked as an electrical technician for Moore Business Forms and Goss until his retirement in 2008. John enjoyed watching sports, especially the Red Sox and Patriots. He had been involved in the Rochester Girls Softball League for many years as a coach and in 1996 was President of the League. John was also very involved with Trinity Anglican Church and at one point served as Senior Warden. He had also been an active member of the Elks for the last 35 years.
