John Richard Evans

John Richard Evans, of Rochester, passed away on Dec 22, 2021.  He was the son of the late Richard and Marlene (Roberts) Evans, born on Dec 25, 1951.  John grew up in Somersworth and later moved to Rochester.  He was a firefighter in Gonic, as well as working for Eastern Propane and Rochester Public Works.  Most recently he was employed as a bailiff at the Strafford County Courthouse. John was an active member of the Rochester Lodge of Elks. He was a people person and never went anywhere without seeing someone he knew. John enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing cards.  He especially enjoyed his time spent at camp with friends in Errol, NH. Survivors include his sons, Michael and wife Melinda (Callahan) Evans of Center Barnstead, and Matthew Evans of Rochester; grandchildren Jaden (Alex) Bandouveres, Austin Evans, Kyle Evans and Madison Evans; and one great-granddaughter Ezlyn Bandouveres.  He is also survived by his sister Helene (Paul) Carle and a very special friend Kathy Lamper.
