Rochester – John R. Johnstone, 92, passed away Saturday December 7, 2024, at Watson Fields Assisted Living following a period of failing health.
Born October 26, 1932, in Rochester, NH he was the son of the late John S. and Gladys (Shepard) Johnstone.
Mr. Johnstone worked in paper mill management and engineering. John was especially proud of his wife Lorraine. He felt he was blessed when she agreed to be his wife, and they shared two wonderful children. He and Lorraine were so grateful for the help so many provided during their lifetime. Too many to acknowledge here.
Members of his family include his daughter Kathleen “Kate” J. Nickerson and husband Daniel M. Nickerson of Rochester, NH; one grandson John Wendel Nickerson and wife Jen, and his great grandchildren Avery and Logan. He was predeceased by his wife Elizabeth “Lorraine” Johnstone, his son John Neal Johnstone, his brother William Johnstone, his stepbrother Hugh Johnstone, his stepsister Connie Seccus, and nieces and nephews.
A celebration of John's life will be announced at a later date.
