John D. Rigazio

ROCHESTER - John Donald Rigazio, age 81, retired businessman, passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2012, at his house at 6 Sunrise Drive, Rochester. He died of diabetes and depression, which he couldn't conquer. He was born on Aug. 18, 1931, in Rochester, the son of John and Lena Rigazio. He was married on Nov. 30, 1957, to Joan Evelyn Ward of Portland, Maine. They had five children together and he leaves seven grandchildren upon his passing. He also leaves one surviving sister, June Tanguay of Somersworth. Although he says he had a poor way of showing it, he loved his family and he loved his country. Mr. Rigazio said, "May I finally rest in peace. Paul Anka wrote the song My Way,' and Frank Sinatra sang it. But I lived it." There will be a funeral Mass at St. Mary's Church of Rochester on Lowell St. at 10AM on Wednesday, Oct. 3. His body will be buried at a later date in the Holy Rosary Cemetery on Brock Street.
