Joseph Downey

Rochester- Joseph Downey, 69, of 126 Brock Street, Apt B died Tuesday, October 18, 2011 at the Hyder Family Hospice House in Dover. Born April 10, 1942 in Lynn, MA. He was the son of the late MJ and Myrtle (Rae) Downey. Joseph has lived most of his life in Rochester. He graduated from Somersworth High School and was a reservist for the United States Army. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Greater Rochester. He worked for many years for Consolidated Construction Builders. Joe was a kind, hard working, and loving person. He was a great husband and father; he enjoyed his children most in life. Members of his family include his wife off 33 years Mary L. (Potvin) Downey of Rochester. His children Sean Downey and wife Jaimie of Berwick, ME and Jaimie Nordaby of Rochester. His step-children; Lawrence Stickles of Farmington, Russell Stickles of Rochester, Rodney Stickles of Farmington, Michael Stickles and wife Jennifer of Rochester, and Karen Boudreau of Rochester. Eleven grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews. There are no calling hours. A memorial service will be Friday, October 21, 2011 at 11 AM in the chapel of the R. M. Edgerly & Son Funeral Home, 86 S. Main Street, Rochester, NH 03867 Burial will follow in the Center Strafford Cemetery, Strafford, NH
