Joseph J. Lafleur

Rochester- Joseph J. LaFleur, 87, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 11th, 2025, in Rochester New Hampshire, surrounded by the love of his family.
Born on August 24, 1937, in Rochester, New Hampshire, Joseph was the son of the late Alfred P. LaFleur and Odelie (St. Laurent) LaFleur. He dedicated much of his professional life to the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard, where he worked as an estimator and planner.
Joseph was a man of many passions and talents. A proud and longtime member of the Rochester Elks Lodge, he loved the camaraderie of competitive pool and card games. He had a deep appreciation for the outdoors and found joy in activities such as dancing, cross-country skiing, hunting, fishing, and boating. One of Joseph’s greatest joys was traveling the world with his beloved wife of 43 years, Pauline M. (Breen) LaFleur. Together, they created countless memories while cruising with various cruise lines. Their shared love of travel created cherished memories that lasted throughout their life together.
Joe's greatest joy was his family. Joe and Pauline built a life together filled with love, laughter, and support. As a father, grandfather and great grandfather, he was always present whether cheering from the sidelines or simply offering his wisdom.
He is survived by his loving wife Pauline; his four children and four step-children, Linda Digiusto and her husband Mark, of Salem, NH; Diane Bragdon, of Fuquay-Varina, NC; John LaFleur and his wife Robin, of Wendell, NC; Thomas LaFleur and his wife Paula, of Loudon, TN; Richard Wozmak and his wife Diane, of Hampton, NH; Karen Scovill, of Alton, NH; Julie Davis, of Merrimack, NH; and Jennifer Wozmak, of Dover, NH. He also leaves behind his brother Edmond LaFleur and his wife MaryAnn, of Plymouth, MA; and his sister Loretta Chick, of Falls Church, VA.
Joseph was also a beloved grandfather to fifteen grandchildren and a great-grandfather to twelve great-grandchildren. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, who will remember him with great love.
Joseph was predeceased by his siblings, Alfred LaFleur, Joanne Bisson, and Eva Kelley. He is also reunited with his loving dog of 14 years, Taffy, who brought him endless joy and comfort.
Family and friends may visit Wednesday April 16, 2025 from 10 AM – 11 AM at St. Mary Church located at 71 Lowell St. Rochester, NH. A funeral mass will follow at 11 AM, burial will take place later this spring.
