Joseph Valier Tardiff, Born 8/10/1921 in Daigle Maine, son of Simon Tardiff and, Amanda Marquis, Loving Husband and best friend to Azele Marie Boudreau-Tardiff passed Monday morning 7/13/15 at day break to continue his journey and join his departed brothers and sisters. Joseph leaves his loving and caring wife, Azele of 63 years, and two Sons, Bruce from Rochester NH, and Glenn of Ocean Ridge Fla. Joe, known as Val to many, also leaves his Daughter-in-law Margaret Tardiff wife to Bruce, three grand children, Valerie, his name-sake and her Husband John Correia , Brent, and Renee', as well as two great grandchildren, Valerie's Wyatt 9, and Sienna 3. Joe was the last of his family to pass, being pre-deceased by his brothers, Lucian, Simon, Patrick, Louis, Alcide, and Phillip, as well as his loving sisters, Cicile, Albertine, Yvonne, Eva, and Martha. Joe also leaves countless loving nieces and nephews. Joe honorably served in the US Navy from 1942 to 1944, trained in Radio service, then worked for Pratt and Whitney of East Hartford as a machinist retiring in 1983. Joe and Azele married on December 1, 1951, moved from Hartford Connecticut to purchase a home and raise a family in Windsor Locks Ct. Upon the birth of his third grand child in 1991, Joe and Azele followed Bruce and Margaret, and moved to Rochester New Hampshire to reside at Cocheco River Estates enjoying the many friends they met there. Joe was a loyal, loving husband and a diligent provider for his Wife and family. Joe had many people through the years that the family would like to thank for enriching his life, relatives, neighbors, and friends. Joe was always willing to lend a hand fixing, building, or providing advice to repair something. He enjoyed vacationing, gardening, travelling, playing cards, loved to "putter" on machines and build things. Joe didn't say too much but would listen intently. When we last spoke, he said he was going home soon, Amen Dad, rest in peace. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to the people at Dover Rehab for caring for him during his last days, friends and neighbors who provided companionship and support, also to Ed and Gloria Hayes of the Rochester Holy Rosary Catholic church for their years of ministry to Joe. Family and friends may visit Thursday, July 16, 2015 from 5-7PM at the R.M. Edgerly & Son Funeral Home, 86 South Main Street, Rochester, NH. A memorial mass will be celebrated at 10AM at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church 189 North Main Street, Rochester, NH. Burial will be in the NH Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen, NH.
