Therrien, Joseph Rochester- Joseph "Rene" Louis Therrien, 78, of 32 Western Ave died Friday, March 19, 2010 at the Frisbie Memorial Hospital. Born March 9, 1932 in Berlin, NH. He was the son of the late Hermenegilde and Marie (Marquis) Therrien. Rene had a strong work ethic and always kept very busy. He was a retiree of General Electric and an Army veteran. For many years he also operated an electronics business out of his home. Most recently Rene was employed at the Rochester toll booth. Rene was most known for his generosity and his kindness. He was a dedicated husband and a loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He had many friends and treated strangers as neighbors. While Rene was a strong man he had a gentle spirit - he was easy with a smile, had warm blue eyes and was always singing. He loved the outdoors and was often found working in his yard stacking wood, tending the flowers and snow blowing driveways in the winter. He was a lobsterman for many years and enjoyed being on the ocean. When inside, Rene would often pass the time watching sports and nature shows or visiting with friends and family. Rene is already missed by the many that love him but his strong character and selfless approach to life carry on as inspiration for those who knew him. Members of his family include his wife of 57 years Doris A. (Mains) Therrien of Rochester. His daughters; Darlene McEwan and husband Wayne of Middleton, NH, Debra Baker and husband James of Florida, Kathy MacDonald and Dana Doyon of New Durham, and Kristen Cyr and husband Pat of Springvale, ME.
