Joyce B Litchfield

Joyce Litchfield Joyce B Litchfield age 79, went to be with her Lord on Monday March 25, 2019, after a period of declining health. The only child of Freeman and Margaret Johnson, she grew up in East Rochester and lived there her entire life. Joyce worked in the area shoe shops most of her career as a fancy stitcher, until their closing. She also worked at BankEast, and, Jordan Eye care. After retiring she began substitute teaching for Rochester elementary schools, and most recently worked as a Senior Companion for Cornerstone VNA. In her "spare" time she enjoyed different crafts including sewing, quilting, knitting, crocheting and embroidery. She also enjoyed reading, and camping at Alton Bay. Joyce was a member of Emmanuel Advent Christian church where she taught Sunday School and children's church for many years. Joyce is survived by four children. Chuck and wife Debbie Litchfield of Davenport FL,  Rodney Litchfield of East Rochester,  Scott Litchfield of East Rochester, and Wilson(Sonny) and Wife Tina Litchfield of East Rochester. Three grandchildren Lynn-Ann Depalma and Husband Mark of Utica NY, Timothy Litchfield of Milton, Steven Litchfield, of East Rochester and one great grandchild Owen Depalma of Utica NY, as well as many relatives and friends. The family would like to thank all of her care givers over these last few months. They would like to especially thank and appreciate Carol Colbath for the many hours she spent with Joyce, both as a friend and caregiver. Joyce is predeceased by her Parents, Freeman and Margaret Johnson, Brother Roderick Johnson, Sister Janet Johnson, her Husband Duane (Bucky) Litchfield, Daughter-in-Law Dorothy Litchfield, and grandson Jacob Litchfield. The family would like to thank all of her care givers over these last few months. They would like to especially thank and appreciate Carol Colbath for the many hours she spent with Joyce, both as a friend and caregiver. She will be missed by all who knew her. In Lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to Emmanuel Advent Christian Church, or Cornerstone VNA Funeral services will be held Thursday March 28, at 12pm with visitation to be held 2 hours prior at the Emmanuel Advent Christian Church, Eastern Ave in Rochester.
