Joyce Wood

ROCHESTER: Joyce S. Wood, 81, died, Sunday, January 6, 2013 in the Hyder Family Hospice House after a long battle with Cancer. Her loving and devoted family was by her side during her stay. Born in Buffalo NY on April 16, 1931 she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Joyce Stinson. She resided in Groveland for many years and has lived in Rochester for the past nine years. Joyce was a graduate of Mary Burnham School for Girls, Northhampton MA and Norwegian School of Nursing , Brookline NY and was a member of the U.S. Navy Reserves. While raising her family she was a registered nurse in many hospitals in Massachusetts before retiring. After retirement she moved to Wakefield NH and worked part-time as an Insurance Nurse and then later a Red Cross Volunteer at the Naval Branch Health Clinic,Portsmouth Naval Shipyard. Joyce can be best described as a wonderful nurse, wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She never thought twice about spending time with her family. In her spare time, she enjoyed...
