Rochester, NH-Kenneth B. Wood, 88, died Saturday, Sept. 9, 2017, at the Rochester Manor, Rochester NH. His loving and devoted family was by his side. Born in Groveland Ma on December 31, 1928 he was the son of the late John Bertram & Annebelle Wood. He resided in Groveland for over 55 years and has lived in the Rochester NH for the past 14 years. Kenneth was a graduate of Salem State College and The University of New Hampshire. He served in the US Navy during the Korean War. He was a guidance counselor in the Pentucket School System for almost 30 years. After retiring from Pentucket Regional High School he was a substitute teacher at Kingswood High School in Wolfeboro NH for over 10 years. He was a member of the Groveland American Legion Post # 248 and a Master Mason with Unity Lodge #62 in Wakefield/Union NH. Kenneth can be best described as a wonderful dedicated teacher, husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He was a very humble, kind, gentle, generous, loving man. He is survived by his daughters, Donna J. Haack and her husband Terrance of Sparta WI, Jane Russsell and her husband Scott of Farmington NH, 10 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and one niece. He was predeceased by his wife, Joyce S. Wood, daughter, Gail A. Ortiz and sister Lois Gilman. His funeral service will be held on Saturday, Sept. 16, 2017 at the R.M. Edgerly & Son Funeral home, 86 S. Main Street, Rochester NH at 11AM. Calling hours will be held one hour before his funeral service. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to The Rochester Manor Resident Trust Fund, 40 Whitehall Road, Rochester, NH 03867. Interment will be held in the Riverview Cemetery in Groveland MA following the funeral services.
