Milton NH-Larry Alan Johnson,65, of 13 Thurston Rd died suddenly Sunday February 3, 2013. He passed away preparing to spend the day doing two of the things he loved the most, fishing and spending time with his grandson Ben. Born August 8, 1947 in Wolfeboro NH he is the son of Marshall B and Alice (Williamson) Johnson. Larry grew up in Tamworth and lived most of his life in Milton. He graduated from Kennett High School in 1966 and in November of that same year he left to serve in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Returning from the war he began working at Spaulding Composites as a machinist where he has been working for the past 40 years. Larry was an avid sportsman having enjoyed fishing and hunting. He also enjoyed flea markets. He was a member of the American Legion Post 0061 in Milton NH. Members of his family include his wife of 25 years, Claire (Chandronait) Johnson of Milton, his mother, Alice Johnson of Tamworth, his step children; Janine Allfrey and her husband Dennis of Rochester NH and Paul Washburne and his wife Beverly of Middleton NH, his grandchildren; Morgan Washburne, Benjamin Allfrey, Michael Allfrey, Brittney and Christopher Schumaker, a daughter in law, Nancy Turcotte of Derry NH, his brothers; Glenn Johnson and his wife Karen of Tamworth and Jeffery Johnson of Bartlett, a sister, Shirley Eldridge and her husband Harry Jr., of W. Ossipee NH. He had several nieces and nephews. He predeceased by a step daughter, Denise Deatte and his father, Marshall Johnson In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or to the American Heart Association. Calling hours will held Wednesday February 6 from 6-8 at the R.M. Edgerly & Son Funeral Home, 86 South Main St, Rochester NH 03867 Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11am with visitation to be held 1 hour prior in the chapel of the funeral Home. Burial will be in Milton in the Spring.
