Laurence W. Brown, Jr., 79, of Rochester, passed away on May 10, 2011 after a brief illness. He was born on August 26, 1931, the son of Laurence W. Brown, Sr. and Ethel (Rudd) Brown. He was born and raised in Strafford, NH. He was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather. He lived life to the fullest, and was best known for his love of fishing, gardening and his three grandsons. He retired from the US Airforce in 1981 after serving for 21 ½ years. He then made the United States Postal Service his second career, serving for 17 years. He finished his working career as a security guard for Ricci Lumber. He is survived by his wife and loving companion of 40 years, Carol A. Brown of Rochester. His daughter, Lisa A. Rocheleau of Rochester as well as a daughter Pamela and a son Laurence. His three grandsons, Eric Rocheleau, Cameron Rocheleau and Adam Rocheleau. He is also survived by his sisters Georgina, Carol, Elaine and Marion. Also, a special sister in law, Joann Brown as well as many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents, a brother Carl and sisters Shirley, Marjorie, Phyllis and Dorothy. A very special thank you to the amazing staff at Brigham and Women's Hospital as well as that of the Hyder House. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, May 18, 2011 at the Center Strafford Cemetery in Strafford at 10:00 am.
